Sitting in a bar at the Pallazzo in Las Vegas having a beer, I received an email from JC (www.desfor.com) regarding a team that walked into the wreck. Late last year I wrote a blog “What ever happended to Austins DC3 CF-ILQ” about a plane wreck my grandfather survived. They had taken a series of great pictures which I’ve attached. Since 1964 this bird has sat there. First hanging in the trees, then falling to the ground, surviving a major forest fire that occurred 20 years ago. Seems to be in okay shape given the circumstances.

Hello,
I was a good friend of Ron Charity ( son of R. Charity who force-landed the DC-3 CF-ILQ at the Rupert River, Quebec ). That was back when Ron flew the otter for Fecteau Aerien Ltee out of Chibougamau, Quebec – then operated the Hall Air Services with a light twin aircraft between Chibougamau & Val D’Or Quebec.
Ron always told me his dad had crash-landed a DC-3 somewhere around the Rupert House area (I flew at lot in that area with the Beaver, Otter, DC-3′s back in the mid-sixties but never got to see the actual crash-site.
If there was any way of getting in touch with Ron’s son I would really appeciate it – Ron & I were friends throughout the years & much I could share with him – Thanks.
